Age & grade appropriate reading
Knowing which letters have more than one sound
Reading multiple syllable words
Doesn't read for fun
Knowing individual consonant letters & sounds
Knowing phonics rules
Knowing individual vowel letters & sounds
Applying phonics rules
Reading consonant blends
Knowing & using schwa
Hates to read or is reading phobic
Slow reader
Has been or is currently in special reading instruction class or group
Has been or is currently getting help from tutor for reading
Has been diagnosed with Reading Disability by School Psychologist
Has average or above average IQ but is reading below expected ability level
Has missed a lot of instruction due to illness, moving, or changing curriculums or schools
Makes letter or word reveral errors (b for d)
Randomly guesses at words
Tries to read every word phonetically
Had multiple ear infections in childhood
Has had articulation problems (may or may not have had speech therapy)
Has had developmental language problems (may or may not have had therapy for this)
Has had blow to head
Has family history of reading problems
Was adopted and has no family history available
Has visual tracking problems
Has auditory processing problems
Complains of words moving, blurring, or rivers in text
